Renewal by Andersen® and our parent company Andersen Corporation is committed to promoting sustainability through our products and processes. With every new replacement window and patio door installation, we help make another home become more sustainable.
Here’s how we promote sustainability:
We Support the ENERGY STAR® Program
You may already be familiar with the ENERGY STAR label found on different product, from computer screens to replacement windows in Wichita. These are the three qualities that a replacement window should meet to be considered ENERGY STAR-compliant :
It should come from an ENERGY STAR partner.
It should be independently tested, certified, and verified by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).
Its NFRC ratings should meet or exceed the energy efficiency guidelines set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Our range of windows helps make a sustainable home by helping homeowners benefit from energy-efficient products.
We Use Reclaimed and Reused Materials
The frames of our replacement windows in Derby are made of Fibrex® material, which made from polymer and wood fibers. They contain 40% reclaimed wood fiber by weight. The resulting material combines the strength, stability, and insulating properties of wood with the low maintenance benefits of vinyl. It will not crack, pit, corrode, or rot; it would not require painting, as well. We reclaim much of our wood fiber from Andersen Corporation’s wood window manufacturing facilities.
Our High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass likewise contain reclaimed materials, containing at least 12% reclaimed glass by weight. The dual-glazed design is standard on all of our replacement windows. It features low-emissivity (Low E) coatings that filter up to 95% of harmful UV and infrared light while letting through as much visible light as clear glass does.
Our Products Have Long Life Cycles
Construction waste has become a major problem in the building industry, as it’s fast becoming a major source of landfill waste. As our windows in Topeka have long life cycles and strong warranties, your home won’t generate as much construction waste. This means they won’t take up any landfill space any time soon.
